Abstract
Prokofjew Beethoven
Seong-Jin Cho won the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2015 and has been one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation ever since. The South Korean-born pianist has a long-standing artistic collaboration with our General Music Director Gianandrea Noseda: Seong-Jin Cho recorded the two Chopin piano concertos together with Noseda and the London Symphony Orchestra for Deutsche Grammophon. Following performances at the Berlin Philharmonie, Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie and La Scala in Milan, Cho and Noseda can also be heard together at Opernhaus Zürich in the current season, performing Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2. In the second half, Noseda conducts the popular 5th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven on the podium of the Philharmonia Zurich.
