Abstract
Song recital Olga Peretyatko
At the Zurich Opera House, the internationally sought-after soprano Olga Peretyatko was most recently seen as Fiorilla in Rossini's Turco in Italia, as Konstanze in Mozart's Entführung aus dem Serail and as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto. In a song recital, the St. Petersburg-born singer now devotes herself to two female composers who were born almost simultaneously in the 19th century and were both celebrated as virtuosos: Clara Schumann on the piano and Pauline Viardot on the opera stage. But both women also left behind numerous compositions. Together with her pianist Semyon Skigin, Olga Peretyatko has put together a programme based around their song oeuvre, which also includes works by Robert Schumann, Brahms, Rossini and Bellini.
