Season opening party 2018/19
When people start queuing on Sechseläutenplatz at nine in the morning at the end of September, that time of year is upon us – the Opera House is opening its doors after the summer break. All are invited to the annual opening party. This time, we will be premièring our children’s opera Konrad oder Das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse (Konrad or the Tin Can Child) on the Studio Stage, and on the main stage you will be able to attend the public dress rehearsal of Verdi’s Macbeth or a performance of Offenbach’s operetta, Häuptling Abendwind. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour behind the scenes, explore the costume department and workshops, attend ballet workshops, and much more besides. As always, all these events are free of charge.

Abstract
Season opening party 2018/19
What is offen7?
After the summer break, the beginning of the new season is celebrated with a big party for young and old. During a whole day we show a varied program in the opera house, on the rehearsal stages and in our workshops. Open not only means the opening of the new season, but also the opening of the opera house for all interested parties - both on 22 September and throughout the season.
Do I need a ticket for every event at the season opening party?
No, many programme items can be visited without a ticket. Some events have limited space, so tickets will be issued in the pavilions at Sechseläutenplatz 30 minutes before the start of the event, all free of charge of course. It's worth coming early! The events for which tickets are issued and for which tickets are not, are noted on the flyer.
Can tickets be reserved and are seats allocated?
Ticket issuing is based on the "first come, first served" principle. The tickets are not numbered by seats, at events on the main stage of the Opera House the first in line receive tickets for the parquet, the next sitting in the gallery, etc.
How do I get to Zurich Opera House?
We recommend travelling to Zurich Bellevue or Zurich Stadelhofen by public transport. There are only a limited number of parking spaces in the vicinity of Sechseläutenplatz, for example in the Opera car park.
How do I find the «Spiegelsaal» or the «Montagehalle»?
Besides the information on the map, all venues are well labeled. If you have any questions, please contact Opera House staff or go to the information stand on Sechseläutenplatz. The assembly hall in the workshop building is only a few steps away from the Opera House at Seerosenstrasse 4. 4 floors of studios give an exciting impression of the craftsmanship of the stage builders and are absolutely worth a visit on this day!
