Introductory matinee «Nijinski»
One hundred years after his last performance as a dancer, the exceptional artist Vaslav Nijinski is the focus of a dance piece by Marco Goecke that has already won many awards. Before the Swiss premiere with the Ballett Zürich, Marco Goecke and Nijinski actor Esteban Berlanga talk about their work on the ballet. In addition, dramaturg Michael Küster speaks with ballet director Christian Spuck, conductor Pavel Baleff and dancer Mark Geilings. Pianist Adrian Oetiker will perform compositions by Chopin and Debussy.
We offer introductory matinees to accompany every new production: in conversation with our dramatic advisers, conductors, directors, set and costume designers explain their view of the works in question. On a Sunday morning a week or two before the première, you will thus gain direct insights into the peculiarities of the production.
