Introductory matinee «Manon»
We offer introductory matinees to accompany every new production: in conversation with our dramatic advisers, conductors, directors, set and costume designers explain their view of the works in question. On a Sunday morning a week or two before the première, you will thus gain direct insights into the peculiarities of the production.
On the 24th of March, an opera of a very special charm will be the focus of interest: Manon by Jules Massenet. First performed in Paris in 1884, the work was written before Giacomo Puccini's version of this material from Abbé Prévost's cult novel Manon Lescaut. The production team led by director Floris Visser and the soloists Elsa Dreisig and Piotr Beczala talk to dramaturg Kathrin Brunner about their work on this opera.
