Abstract
DA Z Digital Art Zurich DISRUPTED SCENES
The plot of the production is based on the ancient epic of Dido and Aeneas. However, no interpretation of the ancient work by Virgil or the baroque opera "Dido and Aeneas" by Henry Purcell is to be expected. Pieces by various composers will be played.
The times in which Dido and Aeneas meet are marked by warlike conflicts, just as they are today. Dido and Aeneas are refugees. Dido and Aeneas are young people in a world whose continued existence is endangered, whose environment is being destroyed just as much as habitats and human existence by war. They are prisoners of their origins, as well as of their systems of domination, and despite their individual possibilities to work positively for a better world, they struggle with their doubts and their own demons. These young people are embodied by the two protagonists Siena Licht Miller (vocals) and Kaan Bulak (music) in musical and scenic interplay, embedded in an exciting visual storytelling.
