New Faces in the Ballet
Ballett Zürich is entering a new era. Cathy Marston is the Director and Chief Choreographer of the company as of this season. She has also brought new dancers to Zurich. We introduce them briefly.

Dores André
Dores André is originally from Spain. She was a principal dancer with the San Francisco Ballet; now she dances as First Soloist with Ballett Zürich. «I hope to expand my dance vocabulary here in Zurich. I'm looking forward to working on contemporary pieces and especially to those choreographers with whom I haven't had the good fortune to collaborate yet.»

Max Cauthorn
Max Cauthorn originates from the USA. He was also a principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet before joining Ballett Zürich this season as First Soloist. He is very curious about his new company: «I care deeply about our art, and I believe we are at our best when we are not only supported by others, but also support each other.»

Brandon Lawrence
Brandon Lawrence comes from the UK and was Principal Dancer of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Now he is First Soloist at Ballett Zürich: «I am thrilled at the prospect of being part of Cathy Marston's exciting artistic vision. The new season features an incredible range of repertoire and an ensemble whose members I want to learn from and connect with.»

Charles-Louis Yoshiyama
Charles-Louis Yoshiyama has Japanese and French citizenship. He was a Principal Dancer with Houston Ballet and has also been First Soloist with Ballet Zurich since the beginning of this season: «I am looking forward to working with Cathy Marston on her creations and dancing some truly challenging repertoire in what I consider the most beautiful opera house in the world.»
Shelby Williams
After successful years as a soloist with the Royal Ballet of Flanders, Italian-American Shelby Williams is a new member of Ballett Zürich: «After focusing on contemporary dance and dance theatre for a long time, I am happy to return to the roots of my ballet training and explore how classical ballet, contemporary dance and narrative work influence each other.»
