Young people in the opera house
The Zurich Opera Ball is a charity event. The proceeds of the 2019 Ball supported the Zurich Opera House's education programmes to inspire young people for opera and ballet. Our projects are aimed at children of all ages, from pre-primary and elementary school to young adults, and provide age-appropriate access to these forms of art and selected pieces. On thematic tours, we take our young guests behind the scenes of the opera house and provide insights into our working methods and artistic processes. In workshops with direct practical relevance, we deepen the impressions and bring the theatre to life. Our goal is to promote a quality awareness of art and to encourage children and young people to their own creativity. We seek a conversation with young audiences and give them the opportunity to be artistically active and, in addition, to attend performances by the Zurich Opera House. By visiting the ball and purchasing as many lottery tickets as possible in our tombola with over 500 attractive prizes, you supported our education programmes.
